About Back to human

“Back to Human” is an ongoing artistic exploration of what it means to return to the human — to ourselves, to others, and to the natural world we are part of.

The project began as a body of paintings and illustrations centered on connection. Each piece reflects a desire to come back to something simpler.

The coloring book is an extension of this work.

It brings together a selection of illustrations from the original “Back to Human” collection, translated into line art, alongside new drawings created during a 40-day creative process. This combination allows the project to exist in a more accessible and participatory form.

Rather than presenting the work as something to observe, the book invites interaction.

Through coloring, the viewer becomes part of the process — engaging with the artwork in a slower, more tactile way. The act itself becomes a space to disconnect from external pressure and reconnect with sensation, presence, and emotion.

At its core, “Back to Human” questions the idea that we always need to become more — more productive.

Instead, it offers a different perspective: that there is value in returning.
In vulnerability.
In allowing ourselves to simply be.

The coloring book is one form of this exploration — not the end, but part of a larger movement back to what is essential.

About El Camino de mi Duelo

This illustrated poetry book emerged from the quiet, personal grief I experienced when my grandmother passed away in Mexico—far from me in France. It was my first experience of losing a loved one, and I found myself facing grief in solitude. In that silence, I began writing poems to her—without knowing they would later become a book. Over time, I illustrated these poems and added a journal, with the purpose of turning grief into a path of self-discovery and healing.

Though different from my visual artwork, this project belongs to the same universe: going back to human. It carries the essence of vulnerability, love, and memory. Written in Spanish—my mother tongue—the book invites readers on a deeply personal journey through mourning and remembrance.

*Currently the book exists only in spanish edition.
